Phylogenetic system of classification includes

Correct! Wrong!

The phylogenetic system of classification includes evolutionary trends only.

The phylogenetic system of classification is based on the evolutionary history of an organism. The two-kingdom classification (Kingdom Plantae and Kingdom Animalia) proposed by Carolus Linnaeus was mostly based on the morphological characters of an organism. Two organisms are placed in the same group if they have some common morphological characters.

After the theory of evolution was published in 1859, organisms are classified according to their evolutionary history. Initially, the phylogenetic system of classification uses data from comparative anatomy, fossils records and embryology of an organism. Later, the phylogenetic system of classification uses data from the DNA, RNA, and protein sequence of an organism.

The first phylogenetic system of classification “the Engler system” was proposed by a German botanist Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler and Carl Anton Eugen Prantl in 1892.
