Hypoxia Induces Heart Regeneration In Mice

Adult mammalian heart is incapable of regeneration which makes it a post-mitotic organ. In a recent report published in Nature revealed that adult mammalian heart has the capacity of regeneration in a certain condition. Scientists observed that under hypoxic condition the size and number of cadiomyocyte, and the heart weight to body weight increased as compared to normoxic condition in adult mice.
